While you’re working on a painting, viewing it up-side-down or from very far back can give you a perspective that can lead to more enlivened work.

If you’re working wet, as you would with watercolour, be sure not to let the paint drip by placing it on the floor to view up-side-down.


The main aim of drawing is always to examine, in visual terms, the nature of the world around us.  It is the outward manifestation of an analytical process through which we try to assess forms and their relationships to one another.
